SLC SHARKS REPEAT AS WOMEN'S CHALLENGE CUP CHAMPIONS

The St. Lawrence Cornwall Sharks won their 2nd straight Women's Challenge Cup with a 1-0 win over
U of T Scarborough on Friday March 28th in Etobicoke.
The St. Lawrence Cornwall Sharks women's hockey team is used to playing one goal games.

Two years ago, it was a one goal loss to Fanshawe in the Challenge Cup final. Last year, it was a one goal victory in overtime against Humber to win the title.

So it's no surprise that it came down to one goal yet again in the 2015 Women's Challenge Cup final. Nor is it a big surprise that the Sharks came out on top.

SLC defeated U of T Scarborough 1-0 to win it's second consecutive Challenge Cup title. The #2 seeds defeated Conestoga,  Sault College and Fanshawe en route to the finals where the Sharks came out on top once again.

Last year, the Trent Excalibur were two minutes away from being Challenge Cup champions.  This year, they made sure they were not bridesmaids yet again.

#3 Trent capped an incredible season by claiming their fourth tournament title of the year - and the one that counts - by defeating the host St. Lawrence College Cornwall Sharks 2-0 to become the 2015 Challenge Cup champions March 21st in Cornwall.

Trent becomes the seventh school to win the title in the championship's seventh season - a testament to just how tough it is to win the title.

Men's and Women's Power Ratings: FANSHAWE TOPS BOTH FOR JANUARY

Fanshawe Falcons sit atop both the Men's and Women's Power Ratings after tabulating the results of all tournaments to date.

Despite three losses in their last two tourneys,  the Falcons sit atop the Men's Ratings thanks to two tournament titles and a semi-final appearance in three tournaments to date.

Fanshawe's Women's team has not played a tourney this semester, but their two tourney titles last semester and undefeated record put them atop the Women's Ratings.  The lady Falcons look to keep their streak intact at the WLU Brant Invitational on Friday Feb 7th.

Please refer to Power Ratings tabs for the Challenge Cup ratings and eligibility breakdowns for all teams that have competed so far this season.
