The Extramural Hockey Power Ratings (EHPR) slot teams according to their record, tournament results and strength of schedule. They compare the relative strength of teams across the province and are calculated after each tournament.

Rating Points are an average of a team's results from all the tournaments they compete in. A perfect score is 100 - this would mean a team has won every tournament it has entered, every in game in regulation and has only ever played opponents rated in the Top 2.

A team's Power Rating becomes more accurate with the more games it plays, with a minimum of 6 to 8 games required to give a significant snapshot of where a team rates.

40% of Rating Points are based on a team's Tournament Performance Factor, with teams earning points on the basis of where they place in a tournament and how many teams are participating in a tournament. 30% of Rating Points is based on the Strength of Schedule Factor, an average of the strength of a team's opponent calculated at the time they play them. The remaining 30% of Rating Points is based on a team's Win Factor, which is calculated using a team's winning percentage and per game points average, with teams receiving 3 points for a regulation win, 2 points for a shootout win, 1 point for a shootout loss/tie and no points for a regulation loss.
