Women's Challenge Series: 3 TEAMS CONFIRMED FOR CUP

Three teams have qualified for the inaugural Women's Challenge Cup in Cornwall on March 14-15, with two automatic berths remaining.

SL Cornwall qualified as host and opened up a wild card spot with a win  over Humber at the Humber Tournament.   Fanshawe took the Fleming Invitational, surprising SLC with a 2-1 win in the final.   In another surprise, Georgian defeated Humber 3-1 in the final of the U of T Scarborough tournament to book its ticket to the Challenge Cup.

Conestoga won the Georgian Fall Faceoff, but has declined an invitation to the championship.   It was also forced to cancel its tournament last Friday February 8th due to bad weather and will not be rescheduling the event.

Two automatic berths remain, with the champions of this week's WLU Brant tourney and the Seneca Invitational on Friday March 8th gaining automatic entry.   The Challenge Cup will be either a 6 or 8 team event depending on the results of the next two tournaments.
