SHARKS LOOK FOR THREEPEAT AT WOMEN'S CHALLENGE CUP

As the 2016 Women's Hockey Challenge Cup gets underway in Brantford this afternoon, the top-rated St. Lawrence Cornwall Sharks are looking to three-peat as champions.   But don't  Sharks coach Sean Boulerice they are the odds-on favourites to take it all again.

 "Every team strives to get here and every team has a legit chance to win (once they are here,"  Boulerice says.  "It's never easy to win - and it's harder to defend."

The eight team tournament starts today with four preliminary games this afternoon, followed up by four more prelims tomorrow morning.   Those games will determine pool standings that will in turn determine the cross-over quarter-final match ups, followed by semis and then the Gold and Bronze games.

The #1 Sharks start their quest for a third title when they face the #8 WLU Brantford Hawks, the tournament hosts.   #2 U of T Scarborough Maroons will take on the #7 Georgian Grizzlies.   #3 Fanshawe Falcons will meet the #6 Sault Cougars, with Challenge Cup newcomers  the #4 Mohawk Mountaineers taking on #5 Fleming Auks.
