OSHAWA,
Ont. -
The field has been set for the 2012 Ontario Colleges Committee on Campus Recreation
(OCCCR) Challenge Cup extramural men’s hockey tournament hosted by Durham
College and Your-SA. The event featuring 12 extramural teams from across the
province will take place from March 22-23 at the Campus Ice Centre.
“Durham College is excited to host this tournament,” said OCCCR VP of Marketing
Scott Dennis. “The teams have shown us throughout the season that they are all
legitimate contenders to win this year’s title. It should be two great days of
extramural hockey action in Oshawa.”
The championship will begin on Thursday, March 22 at 3:15 p.m. with round robin play continuing into Friday, March 23. The championship game scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday night.
Teams qualified for the Challenge Cup by winning an extramural tournament throughout the 2011-12 season. The remaining positions were filled through the Extramural Hockey Power Ratings (EHPR), which slotted the teams according to their record, tournament results and strength of schedule.
